Interesting Story on the RRCL investigation

I have an interesting story to add to the River Raisin Canoe Livery investigation we did, which The Monroe Evening News was along with us, and did a story on.

I got a phone call today from a Lady, who read the story in The Monroe Evening News and went to our website to find contact info. She informed me that the story caught her attention, especially the part where Andy H, Andy G and Jeremy were mentioned in the paper, and the picture on the front page with Andy H holding the dowsing rods.

She informed me that there was a woman who died in that area of the River Raisin, who was in a boat with her boyfriend, which I guess would be her fiancé, as they weren't to far from the wedding. The boat capsized, and he made it out, she never did and was found several days later. While she was known to be a great swimmer, she drowned on April 15th, 1979.

We did confirm the date and drowning, Michelle from The Monroe Evening News sent me a copy of the articles, which I have scanned and uploaded to the website if you'd like to read it. To read the articles, click here.

We hope that in the future, we can get back to this location, and possibly see if we can't make contact with her again, to see if this is in fact this female, or possibly just a strange coincidence. We can not say that this was the female we seemed to have contact with, however it is quite cool to hear this later from an outside source. When we get more information, we will post it for everyone to read.

I would like to extend a special thank you to the lady who called as well as the Monroe Evening News for their cooperation in supplying us with the articles from 1979, we do appreciate it!
